Founded in October 2001 by Lisa Douglass, CMP, CTA focuses only on corporate group travel and incentive reward trips. We are not Internet-based and we do not sell any pre-packaged trips. Every trip is custom designed and personally managed, from concept to site inspection to operation. Specializing in incentive travel, conventions, and meetings of all sizes, CTA works with the leading Destination Management Companies around the world. We will be your partner wherever you wish to go, and will handle everything from accommodations and airline ticketing to elaborate evening functions and activity coordination. We do not generally do city bus tours, rather we come up with creative adventures for your participants so they are not just tourists, but really experience a destination. On a recent trip for a health and nutrition company based in Dallas, TX, we held an "Amazing Race" in the Canadian Rockies. Instead of driving between two destinations, we designed the race to include local facts, trivia, clues and photos. The trip combined adventure with rejuvenation at a luxurious resort. Employees were so motivated after the trip that many said they will strive to win the next trip, too. When another group arrived after a long flight to Sydney, Australia, CTA encouraged them not to nap immediately nor take a generic bus tour, but instead to head right out into Sydney Harbor for a sailing regatta. The group also climbed the Harbor Bridge that week. Rather than set up dinner in a restaurant, CTA planned an extraordinary five-course meal for one company atop a New Zealand mountain. The dinner was black tie, complete with 2,000 candles set in candelabras, hanging from trees, and floating in a creek. That group also spent time on the trip running luge races, four-wheeling and bungee jumping. These are just a few examples of the creativity of CTA. Any idea you can come up with is a challenge we are willing to undertake. We also have a database of 100 freelance travel staff in Europe, the US, and Australia. Using staff, if possible, that might be based where your program is located can save you money. Most of our staff has worked with CTA President Lisa Douglass during her seven years at Maritz Travel Company. Others have similar backgrounds and are destination experts ranging from age 23 to 65. We custom pick the staff to fit each client. While other companies may work in the same line of business, CTA strives to be different by providing fresh ideas and an element of ADVENTURE.
